Meet B.R.I.G.H.T. – Burnout Recovery & Intention-Driven Growth for Healing + Thriving
Recently, someone asked me a question that stopped me in my tracks:
“If you had to sum up your work in four words, what would they be?”
I blinked. I paused. And then I laughed—because wow, what a question.
No one had ever asked me that before. And as someone who lives and breathes this work, I found myself both stumped and inspired.
Because this work—supporting women and gender expansive people of color through burnout, through healing, through leadership—it’s layered. It’s personal. It’s powerful. And it can’t always be contained in a neat little box.
But what did emerge from that reflection was something even better than four words.
It was an acronym. A guidepost. A love letter to the community I serve.
It was B.R.I.G.H.T.
💡 What is B.R.I.G.H.T.?
B.R.I.G.H.T. stands for:
🟩 Boundaries
Set them like your peace depends on it (because it does).
🟪 Rest
Not a reward, but a right. Prioritize it unapologetically.
🟪 Intention
Lead your life, don’t let it lead you.
🟩 Grace
Give yourself the same compassion you give others.
🟩 Honesty
Acknowledge what you’re holding (and when it’s too heavy).
🟪 Tribe
Community is your lifeline, not a luxury.
These six pillars are the foundation of how we burn bright, not out.
They are a map back to ourselves when burnout has left us feeling lost. They are reminders of our worth, our right to rest, and our power to reclaim joy and direction in our lives. And most importantly—they are practices, not perfection.
You don’t have to master them all at once.Start with the one your body and spirit are asking for most right now.Maybe it’s rest. Maybe it’s honesty. Maybe it’s finding your way back to a community that gets you.
